"Sangeet Natak Academy- Witness Cultural Perseverance"
Sangeet Natak Academy in New Delhi was established on 31st May 1952 by the Indian Education Ministry. It is famous as the National Academy for Dance, Music, and Drama organized in English. In simple words, it's a national-level academy for arts.
Although it was incepted in 1952, it became operational in on 28 January 1953 when Dr. Rajendra Prasad inaugurated this academy. The first chairman of the Sangeet Natak Academy was Dr. P. V. Rajamannar.
It operates as the headquarters of the performing arts all through India. It not just lends a hand in preserving the cultural heritage of India, but also encourages different forms of dance, music and drama.

It also offers some famous awards and fellowships under the name “Sangeet Natak Akademy Awards”. These include Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar, Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship, and 'Ratna Sadsya'.
